i-Rocks a new company has some amazing looking keyboards, very eye catching and unique from most other keyboards. Being one of the only keyboard makers who make PC keyboards like the Apple and Laptop's it is about time we give them some recognition or not.
Today we are going to be reviewing a new keyboard by i-Rocks that is suppose to feel, sound, and look like a Apple's keyboard and or Apple Laptop keyboard. Interesting cliché as to why they thought PC users wanted a Apple keyboard. However I do know a lot of people who do and don't know about this keyboard. So lets get right into the reviewing. Packaging
Front view of packaging
Back view of packaging I have yet to really see any keyboard packaged in a different way than this. Most are simple, a cardboard box with a picture of the keyboard on the front and details on the back. Inside there is a simple protector cardboard piece to cover the keyboard. Simple, but it has been proven to work! Design A quick look at this keyboard makes you wonder where everything is especially if you are used to the gaming keyboards. This keyboard is very simple, num pad on the right with a normal 88 key format on the left, kind of condensed. The keyboard is entirely white (duh!) as it says in the description, a silver ring goes outside the keyboard followed by a annoying inlet which loves to collect dirt :) . Most of there keyboards have a back light however this one doesn't so they decided to recycle the same design from their back lite ones and change the back light on and off to a very annoying power button. If you even accidentally press it while typing, it shuts off your computer. Why on Earth they would put a power button on a keyboard is beyond me but they did. The num lock, caps lock, and power (this never turns off unless you unplug keyboard or usb, which defeats the purpose) indicator LED's are in a black line with a white LED. Unique but rather ugly and 90's looking. Performance Comparing dB of the sound made by the keyboard when typing a 100 word text file to a regular keyboard. | Keyboard | dB level (avg) | | i-Rocks I-MINI Slim | 47dB
| Microsoft Office Keyboard
| 58dB
|
Clearly you can see that normal typing resulting in a 11dB quieter sound level.
The key operation force is 20g roughly the same as most other keyboards, so even though the keys are 1/3 the size of the normal keyboard it requires the same amount of energy to push down. Rating Extras: 6 Design: 7 Performance: 8 Price: 9 Appearance: 9 Due to all the above I award I-ROCKS I-MINI Slim Keyboard Mac Finish a 8 out of a possible 10.
